Unlock All Stages In Free Mode (japanese Version)

Enter the following at the title screen: Hold on square while typing in R1, R1, L1, L1, R2, R2, L1, L1

All Characters - English Version

At the title screen, press Square, R1, Square, R2, Square, R2, Square, R1 to unlock all nineteen hidden generals. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound.

All Characters - Japanese Version

Press Square(2), L1, L2, R1, R2, Square(2) at the title screen.

All Shu generals

At the title screen, press Square(2), R1(2), Square(2), R2(2) to unlock Ma Chao, Jiang Wei, Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and Huang Zhong. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Press Square, R1(5), R2(2) at the title screen in the Japanese version of the game.

All Wei generals

At the title screen, press Square(4), R2(2), R1(2) to unlock Cao Cao, Xiahou Yuan, Zhang Liao, and Sima Yi. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Press Square(3), L1(2), L2(3) at the title screen in the Japanese version of the game.

All Wu generals

At the title screen, press Square(2), R2(2), R1(2), Square(2) to unlock Taishi Ci, Sun Jian, Sun Quan, Lu Meng, and Gan Ning. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Press Square(2), L2(4), L1(2) at the title screen in the Japanese version of the game.

BGM Test option

At the title screen, press L1(3), R1(3), L2, R2. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Choose the "Sound" selection at the options menu, then choose "BGM Test" to hear all the background music from the game. Press R1(2), R2(2), L1(2), L2(2) at the title screen in the Japanese version of the game.

Opening Edit option

At the title screen, press R2(3), L2(3), R1, L1. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. An "Opening Edit" selection will be unlocked on the options menu. Alternately, successfully complete musou mode with all characters except Dong Zhuo, Diao Chan, Lu Bu, Yuan Shao, and Zhang Jiao. Press L1, L2, R2, R1, L1, L2, R2, R1 at the title screen in the Japanese version of the game.

Free mode side selection

At the title screen, hold Triangle and press R1, L1, L2, R2, R1, L1, L2, R2 to unlock free mode side selection. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound.

Hints

Easier Way To Get Lu Bu Than In FAQ

In Hu Lao Gate go way to the right side of the map and go down. Kill ONLY the guys that you have to so you can open the gates. When you get to Hu Lao gate itself, which is the one next to Dong Zhuo, kill the guy next to it. Go into the hallway in it and stay just in the hallway and kill everyone and wait for more. They will keep coming no matter what unless you kill the gate captains. You should have enough time to do it if you follow the the directions carefully. I found this out from the demo disc from PSM Magazine and have done it myself so it should work. An even easier way is with the all characters code (Square, R1, Square, R2, Square, R2, Square, R1).

Way To Build Levels And Experience

An easy way to build levels, experience, and strength is to kepp playing free mode. If you have a memory card, keep saving your games in free mode once you finish a level so your fav character will be stronger in musou mode than normal. This is a good way to help you beat the game. I built up Ma Chao so well that once i started playing musou mode, it only took me an hour to beat the game.

Horses

Don't use horses when you are trying to get experience. When you run over people with a horse you don't get any points at the end for killing them. Horses are good to travel from place to place. When you find one ride to the next area of enemies, get off and kill them. Get back on he horse and repeat. Doing this earns you a lot more points.

Earn Your Characters Up Easy

If you play a level in Free Mode that you can beat your character will become more powerful. The Hu Lao Gate is a great place to earn stuff.

Easy Way to Beat the Hu Lao Gate

On character select pick DianWei and skip all the people until you get to a boss that has a red name over his head and kill 'em.Then when you come up to HuaXiong kill him and go inside the gate and skip all the people until you get to LuRu and defeat him and go inside the gate that he was blocking and you will see DongZhou he will be in red and run up the stairs(Hu Lao Gate stairs)and kill all the bow people and use your bow and aim at DongZhou from a top the Hu Lao Gate and keep on firing until DongZhou is dead and when he is he will say "NO I cannot die now" and you beat the level also now.

Restore health

Pause the game, choose the save option, then resume the game without saving.

Successfully complete musou mode with Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, or Guan Yu.

Unlock Taishi Ci, Lu Meng, and Gan Ning

Successfully complete musou mode with Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, or Sun Shang Xiang.

Successfully complete musou mode with Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, and Guan Yu.
