Recently, Epic Games launched the in-app payment system that allows it to bypass the 30% fees from Google and Apple. Epic Games is also offering discounts of up to 20% through its new payment service.

However, Epic Games' payment system itself doesn't work well with Google and Apple. So, first Apple decided to get Fortnite out of the App Store, and after that, Google decided to do the same.

According to Google and Apple, by introducing a payment system in its app, Epic Games violates their policies.

Fortunately, the Android version of the game is still available through the official Epic Games website and the Samsung Galaxy Store for Samsung users. However, for iOS users, there is no way to install Fortnite if they haven't already.

Epic Games wants Apple to stop its monopoly on the App Store

The decision to remove Fortnite from the app store angered Epic Games so much that its developers sued Google and Apple.

Epic Games says they are not making money from this lawsuit and they just want Apple and Google to stop dominating app developers.

Additionally, Fortnite includes an in-game parody video of a 1984 Apple ad in which Apple's App Store is depicted as a monopolist. The game developer called on gamers to support them against Apple and #FreeFortnite.

Likewise, according to Epic Games, Google's payment restrictions on the Play Store also create a monopoly, in violation of the Sherman Act and California's Cartwright Act. The developer says that Google is “is using its size to do evil upon competitors, innovators, customers, and users in a slew of markets it has grown to monopolize.”

In response to all the heat from Epic Games, Google said that a consistent policy was created to make the "Play Store safe for users." And while Fortnite remains available on Android, they can no longer make it available on the Play Store because it violates its policies.

Additionally, Epic Games alleges that Google forced OnePlus to break a deal that allows the Fortnite Launcher that comes pre-installed on OnePlus phones. According to its developers, Google is also forcing other Android phone makers like LG to cancel the plan.

As of now, Google has remained silent on the entire disaster and refrained from commenting on the deal.
