Fortnite's famous 'healing strategy' is finally coming to an end

Competitive games in Fortnite almost always end in healing. The popular strategy sees players avoiding battles and relying on healing ingredients to win the game. However, Epic Games confirmed this is no longer possible after the recent Campfire nerf.

Epic Games recently increased the cost of rekindling a bonfire to 600 wood. With the build battles in the late game Fortnite competition, it becomes impossible to use Campfires for longer durations.

Naturally, this had made a huge dent in the plans of the players who relied on healing to win the tournament.

Healing doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the game and feels like a cheat of the system. That may be the reason why Epic Games has tried nerf healing in Fortnite on multiple occasions, but Qrei has always found a way to make it work.

Qrei is a competitive Fortnite player who pioneered healing in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS). Therefore, when Epic Games nerfed his strategy, he was the first to show it. However, it didn't take long for the mastermind to come up with other healing strategies.

Therefore, even after the bonfire curse, Qrei discovered something that no one had ever thought could work. Pro Fortnite players cycle through the Reboot Van and end up winning the game when their team manages to beat their foes.

However, even Qrei thinks he has exhausted all available strategies for healing in Fortnite. Therefore, if Epic Games ended up increasing the Reboot time for its new strategy nerf, he thought it would be the end of the healing era.

Fortnite no longer supports heal-offs

Almost all healing items have been nerfed, both in effect and the time it takes to heal the player. If Qrei continues to use the Reboot Van strategy, Epic will probably do this nerf as well, which causes healing to be taken completely out of the game.

It might be boring from a spectator's point of view to watch players win games just by healing themselves. The Fortnite competition needs to see more battles and deserved wins. Naturally, it made sense to encourage something like healing from competitive play.
