It has been confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022. Warner Bros. Interactive originally planned to release the open-world Harry Potter game in 2021. However, the studio recently announced that the Hogwarts Legacy release date was postponed to 2022.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the development process of several video games. It is possible that the Hogwarts Legacy release date was delayed for the same reason.

Platform: Is the Hogwarts Legacy PS5 Exclusive?

No, Hogwarts Legacy is not a PS5 exclusive. Instead, Hogwarts Legacy will be released on older consoles and current generations, namely PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S. Additionally, an open-world Harry Potter RPG title will be out for PC.

Hogwarts Legacy Gameplay

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world role-playing game where players can explore several magical missions. Set in the 1800s, Hogwarts Legacy will allow players to learn new casting spells and develop their magical potential.

While training their abilities, players had to stop ancient magical entities from rising to power.

Like the Harry Potter films, you will be in one of the four houses, namely Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Additionally, you will have to attend classes to learn new techniques. You will not level up in the game if you are too lazy to learn.

Players can explore different areas of Hogwarts castle. Also, they can choose to go out and discover new places, such as the Forbidden Forest.

Of course, players had to fight against powerful entities and monsters with their magical spells. It's still unclear how the Hogwarts Legacy combat system will work.

Will Harry Potter Be in the Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, it is NOT. Harry Potter will not be in the open-world video game Hogwarts Legacy. As we've stated, WB's Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s, an era when Harry Potter didn't exist.

Can You Be The Bad One In Hogwarts Legacy?

According to the developer, players can write their own legacy in the upcoming RPG Harry Potter game. In short, players can choose between being "evil" and "good," depending on their in-game choices.

Is J.K. Rowling Involved In The Hogwarts Legacy?

The short answer to this question is NO. According to Warner Bros., “J.K. Rowling isn’t directly involved in the creation of the game." But J.K. Rowling's book has been the inspiration for everything you'll see in Hogwarts Legacy.
