Twitter Accounts From Elon Musk, Bezos, Joe Biden, Obama & Others Hacked

Celebrity accounts such as President Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Kanye West, and Michael Bloomberg were hijacked. The official accounts of the company, including Apple, also suffered the attack.

In a tweet posted by a hacked account, the hacker asks people to send Bitcoin to a random wallet. Also, the address of the Bitcoin wallet mentioned in a fraudulent tweet by Elon Musk and the hacked account of Bill Gates managed to collect $ 59,000 in Bitcoin. So far, the attack has received a $ 120,000 transaction.

As soon as Twitter receives complaints about coordinated attacks, in an unprecedented step, Twitter blocks the right to tweet from all verified accounts to prevent further tweet fraud. In Twitter's 14-year history, this is the first time this platform has restricted all verified accounts from tweeting.

Then, it was revealed that the internal tools of the social media platform were used in hacking and that was how scammers got past two-factor authentication.

Stating the attack, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wrote: “Tough day for us at Twitter. We all feel terrible this happened. We’re diagnosing and will share everything we can when we have a more complete understanding of exactly what happened.”

There is still no information about the mechanism used behind the attack but it can be believed that the hacker has managed to find a security hole in the account login or account recovery process on the platform.

The outage lasted about an hour and immediately after cheating on all the security gaps, Twitter gave people account access back.
