Tesla plans to bring two new electric vehicles into the industry after the launch of Cybertruck and Semi. The new EV will take years to reach the market, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

During the Q2 2020 Tesla revenue call, Elon revealed several company plans. At first, Tesla's CEO declined to comment on the road map of future products, but later, he released some important information. Elon said it would make sense to assume that Tesla would make compact cars and higher capacity vehicles. He also said there was a long way to go with his new electric car, Model 3, Model Y, and the upcoming Cybertruck and Semi.

The automaker currently sells a total of four passenger electric cars: Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y. Tesla Models S and Model 3 are electric sedans while Model X is a full-size SUV and Model Y is a crossover SUV.

Apart from this, the EV maker will add several electric vehicles including Cybertruck, Roadster, and Semi electric for its portfolio in the coming years. Tesla plans to launch its first electric pickup truck - Cybertruck at the end of 2021. The Tesla sports car, Roadster, and Semi electric commercial truck may take several more years to reach the market. However, Elon could announce something a little earlier.

New Tesla Electric Vehicles Incoming

This California-based company is the largest EV producer in the world. However, the current portfolio consists mainly of premium electric cars. When Tesla stepped into the price-conscious Chinese market, the automaker took a different approach to come out on top. Unlike the US and Europe, it seems that competition here is more dependent on the affordability of electric cars.

Tesla first launched Model 3 and then Model Y in China, which is currently the cheapest electric car in its lineup.

Tesla also works closely with battery companies to produce cheaper batteries which will ultimately reduce the overall cost of the vehicle. With all this in mind, a compact electric hatchback in the range of $ 25,000 can do wonders for Tesla, especially in China.
