Genshin Impact Rating On Play Store Plunge To 2.4 Due To Its Anniversary Rewards

What are Gacha games? A game where people spend money to buy in-game currency and buy in-game perks to level up faster. Genshin Impact is probably one of the most popular Gacha games right now on Android, iOS, and other platforms.

Fans of the genre spent a lot of money on the game, and the enthusiasm of the fans at Genshin Impact helped miHoYo (the game developer) reach the billion-dollar milestone. So, if it's their first birthday, they might want to spend a fraction of that amount paying tribute to the fans, right?

Unfortunately, they didn't do what the fans expected. This is frustrating for people who have stuck to the game for years. Therefore, they started reviewing 1* bombing reviews on the app store. The rating, at the time of writing, has fallen to 2.8 from 4.6.

Genshin Impact Anniversary Rewards: Why Are Fans Upset?

The rewards are disappointing for “Anniversary rewards”, with only 10% of players receiving the Welkin Moon pass, which grants 90 Primogems for a month and 300 Genesis Crystals. The remaining 90% of the player base is left with 1,00,000 Mora.

And it doesn't end there. As the fans were disappointed, they started contacting miHoYo to ask for a better gift, but the company has not responded. On the other hand, when players start posting on their favorite platform because miHoYo is not responding, platform moderators start deleting the post.

Review ratings on the Play Store have also gone up, only dropping again by a significant margin. What made people even more furious was when the company, after a backlash, offered ten intertwined Destinies to collect next week at the ongoing Moonlight Merriment event. Not only that, but fans are also complaining about the company deleting their negative reviews on the app store.

Genshin Impact Anniversary Rewards: Our Take

Players have spent a lot of money on Genshin Impact, and for all their enthusiasm for the game, at least they deserve a better reward if not a reply from miHoYo. Because of their contribution, the game has reached a higher place.

As a free-to-play player on Genshin, I wouldn't say I wasn't disappointed with the prizes. The community as a whole has greatly contributed to the success of the game. Positive criticism should always be accepted.

A lot of people have started the game. From a business point of view, not answering their questions may not be the right decision by miHoYo, and it will be detrimental later from a business perspective.
