Minecraft Skyblock: How to get villagers

Skyblock is one of the most intense and addictive Minecraft map types, pitting players in low-resource scenarios where they must use every ingredient to their advantage to survive.

Villagers are one of the most important components for Minecraft players' progress in Skyblock. Without them, players have no access to Emeralds, and therefore no access to items such as diamond gear and enchantment books, which are only available through villagers trading on many Skyblock maps. Fortunately, there is a way to collect the stables of the venerable villagers. It's a time-consuming pursuit, but definitely worth it to enhance the player's Skyblock experience.

Minecraft Skyblock: Curing zombie villagers

When it comes to getting the villagers in most of Minecraft's Skyblock maps, players must heal the zombie villagers from their plight. This is achieved by giving the zombie villagers a Weakness status effect and then feeding them a golden apple, which will cure them of the zombie disease and return them to their original form. This can be done in many different ways, but all methods require a lot of effort to do.

One of the main ways to heal zombie villagers is to have the mage cast a Splash Potion of Weakness on them before giving them the golden apple. By damaging the mage enough to reduce his heart total to under eight, the player will trigger a 25% chance that the mage will throw away the required splash potion out of desperation. Both finding the mage and lining his throws to hit zombie villagers instead of the player can be difficult, but crafting the player's own Weakness Splash Potion will require access to the Nether to brew a brewery. Additionally, players will likely have to rely on Wandering Merchants to obtain the brewing components needed to make potions, especially brown mushrooms. Combined with a fermented spider eye and some gunpowder, Minecraft players can create the desired splash potion with the brewery.

Golden apples are also hard to come by. Apples are easy to get in the Upper World, but gold is not easily accessible. Some of the ways to get the gold bars needed to make golden apples include:

• Entering the Nether and killing zombified piglins, who occasionally drop gold ingots upon death in Minecraft.
• Killing hostile mobs, who will on occasion drop golden armor which can be smelted in a furnace back to gold ingots.

Whichever method a Minecraft player chooses can be difficult, but the rewards are well worth it. It is highly recommended that players have enough villagers, they start breeding them as soon as possible so they don't have to depend on healing zombie villagers in the future.
