Minecraft Hypixel Skyblock: How to get Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli is commonly used in Minecraft for charms and decorations, but on the Skyblock Hypixel server, it becomes a much more useful material.

Unlike vanilla Minecraft, Lapis Lazuli in Hypixel Skyblock can be used to craft great items like Experience Bottles and even gear like Lapis Armor. It's also a great source of XP due to the experience of dropped balls after mining. However, finding them is not the same as in standard Minecraft, and mining them on Hypixel Skyblock can be dangerous, especially for new players. Fortunately, after learning how to traverse the main areas where Lapis was found on this server, the amount that could be mined was enormous.

Minecraft Hypixel Skyblock: The Deep Caverns and the Lapis Quarry

Unlocked once the player reaches Mining Level 5, the Deep Cave can be found inside the Gold Mine. Additionally, players can access it via the Deep Cave Portal item on their private island. The caves themselves are divided into six layers, getting more and more dangerous as players descend into them. Fortunately for the Lapis Lazuli miners, the Lapis Mine was found in the second level of the Inner Cave, making it relatively less dangerous than the lower areas.

Lapis Quarry is populated with Lapis Zombies that appear randomly, which wear Lapis Armor and will try to attack players in the quarry. Luckily, they weren't that hard to beat at Combat Level 7 and 200 HP. One advantage of zombies, however, is that they can drop Armor Layer pieces as well as Armored Crystals, which players can use in reforging to make pickaxes or magnetic drills, giving them more XP for mining. So while they can be a nuisance, they are worth eliminating during a mining excursion.

While Lapis Lazuli ore is found throughout the mine, its highest concentration tends to be in the center of the area. The only unfortunate aspect is that the center of Lapis Quarry can be filled with other players looking for the same thing. This is somewhat common in many areas of Hypixel Skyblock, but Minecraft multiplayer regulars may get used to this scenario. The good news is that Lapis will never run out completely, so players can choose their favorite place in Lapis Quarry as well as their preferred time to go mining.
