WhatsApp’s new feature easily groups unwanted photos, videos, and GIFs that have been forwarded multiple times and allows you to delete them in one go. It even shows previews of files in the new WhatsApp storage management in case you are unsure whether to delete a certain file or not.

The best part, however, is that all the files are sorted by size in descending order, making it easy to get rid of large files first. However, if you are short on time, you can jump directly to the “larger than 5MB” file section.

Previously, WhatsApp storage only showcased chats and offered options to delete all photos, videos, and GIFs. However, now you can select media files and even preview them.

The new interface in the WhatsApp storage management tool also comes with a bar that shows how much space the phone is taking up by the WhatsApp media.

How to find the WhatsApp Storage management tool?

  • Open WhatsApp and go to its settings.
  • Tap on Data and Storage
  • Tap on Manage Storage

The new WhatsApp storage management tool is rolling out to all users worldwide. The WhatsApp update hasn’t arrived on Android and iOS devices with us. However, we are hoping to get it by the end of the week.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is also working on a disappearing message feature that will soon arrive on WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
