SpongeBob teased for Fortnite Chapter 3 in Nickelodeon trailer

Fortnite has never shied away from potential collaborations. They frequently partner with Marvel, DC, and Star Wars and have garnered many other big-name associations. The game is full of skins from various brands, and one of the greatest cartoons ever might join that list.

SpongeBob SquarePants, the long-running Nickelodeon cartoon, maybe join the popular battle royale soon. The game has added some cartoon characters like Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty and anime characters from Naruto, so this is unprecedented.

SpongeBob might come to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 1

The tease comes from a clip that aired a few months ago. The trailer is for a Nickelodeon game called Portal Chase, but the title exists.

The trailer begins with a floating vehicle with the player on it moving over the city. The similarities with Fortnite are very clear. The opening image is at least a clear homage to the battle royale game. Battle buses look like different animation styles of the same vehicle. Some players immediately took the reference.

This trailer is a bit old. SpongeBob hasn't made it into the game yet, nor does he have a Nickelodeon character.

Ever since Paramount x Epic Games' speculated crossover deal, there have been rumors that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might be coming to the game. This will also pave the way for SpongeBob (not that Epic Games can't get SpongeBob).

The battle bus image must be intentional, or Epic Games may be able to sue Nickelodeon for copyright infringement. That would imply that there is at least a slight working relationship between the two brands.

SpongeBob may be coming to this game soon. A collaboration like this would be huge and Epic Games will most likely want to keep it a secret, which is why they haven't released any official information yet.

They have collaborated with one of the greatest characters of all time in this season's Spider-Man. They'll probably do it again with SpongeBob.
