The Witcher is one of the most popular and loved game franchises of the last decade. Well, if you fall into the category of The Witcher fan, then there's some good news for you.

CD Project Red has announced The Witcher: Monster Slayer Augmented Reality (AR) game for Android and iOS, which is very similar to Pokémon Go. However, instead of catching Pokémon, players must kill dangerous monsters in the mobile game The Witcher.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer was developed by Spokko, a Polish mobile game development studio that was purchased by CD Project Red in 2018.

In Witcher AR for mobile, players can hunt familiars and new monsters in first-person AR battles. According to the studio, players must track, study, and fight monsters “using the time of day and real-life weather conditions to gain the upper hand.”

Besides, preparation is essential to defeating powerful monsters. Interestingly, players have to make bombs, make potions and oil, and upgrade their characters before placing themselves in front of beasts in AR battles.

If you are familiar with The Witcher story, you should know that The Witcher: The Monster Slayer story takes place before the events of The Witcher book and game.

As of now, there is no official release date for The Witcher: Monster Slayer. However, the game is expected to be released this year for Android and iOS. Apart from that, this game is completely free to play.
