After many leaks, Rockstar has officially announced the remastered version of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) trilogy. The collection will include GTA: III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. These three games will feature improved graphics while maintaining the classic look. Rockstar also said that the trilogy will be released for Android and iOS in the first half of 2022.

Luckily, we don't have to wait that long as the GTA collection is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Rockstar Games Launcher on PC later this year. Although the company hasn't given a fixed release date and price, several leaks have pointed it out.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition Price

Earlier this week, Retailer Base.com began taking pre-orders for the game for $70 / £70 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One from Trilogy are listed at $60 / £60. As for the $70 price point, the CEO of Take-Two (Rockstar's parent company) has repeatedly stated that he believes consumers are "ready" for the game's $70 price tag. Rockstar has yet to confirm official pricing details.

GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition release date

According to industry insider Tom Henderson, the GTA remastered trilogy will be released on November 11. He said that the budget had been allocated to various marketing agencies, and November 11 was the written date. This date is most likely for the digital version of the game trilogy.

According to the Polish website PPE, a physical copy of the collection will be released on December 7. However, the site suggests that it only applies to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions are coming next year, just like the next-generation editions of GTA 5. Release dates are subject to change, so take this info with a grain of salt.

Rockstar is likely to make an official announcement on GTA III's 20th anniversary on October 22. The company also removed the original game from digital storefronts this week. Based on that, it's likely that we'll see the trilogy go on sale digitally or physically soon.
