The new chapter ‘Dead By Daylight’ adds ‘Resident Evil’ characters and map

A new chapter with the theme of Resident Evil has been revealed for Dead By Daylight, introducing the characters Leon, Jill, and Nemesis.

The chapter, due out on June 15, will include Dead By Daylight's newest assassin, Nemesis, along with two of Resident Evil's most iconic survivors, Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 2, and Jill Valentine from Resident. Evil, although his appearance is based on his appearance in the Resident Evil 3 remake.

The two Victims will come with three perks of their own, with the developer, Behavior Interactive, revealing that Leon will include a flashbang that can be made to blind or temporarily distracts the Killer.

Nemesis, known in the game as The Tyrant, will be able to infect a Victim with his tentacle attacks, and the more he infects, the more power he gains as the tentacle's range increases.

Furthermore, Dead By Daylight's newest map will be based on the Raccoon City Police Department, one of the most iconic locations in the Resident Evil game.

Dead By Daylight is an asymmetrical survival horror game, where four Victims face off against one Assassin. The goal is to avoid the Assassins long enough so that the team of four can escape while completing certain tasks.

With the Resident Evil chapter, players will be able to counter Nemesis's attacks by looking for vaccines around the map. Players must also avoid the AI-controlled zombies that can also infect players with the T-Virus while trying to escape the Police Department.

Behavior Interactive is also celebrating Dead By Daylight's fifth anniversary, revealing in a press release that the game has been downloaded more than 36 million times worldwide across all platforms.

Regarding the Resident Evil chapter, Mathieu Côté, Game Director for Dead by Daylight said: “We could not have dreamed of a better way to celebrate our fifth anniversary than by welcoming the legendary characters from Resident Evil into our universe.”

“They are at the root of all horror in video games and we are humbled to be able to honor that legacy with a new chapter, thus cementing our own position as the Hall of Fame of Horror.”

The Resident Evil chapter will be available on June 15, for $11.99 on PC and consoles. Those who buy Resident Evil chapters will also get exclusive Umbrella Corporation charms for free.
