Guerrilla Games announced Horizon Forbidden West in June 2020. The sequel to the hit game in 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn, is one of the most awaited video games today. Millions of PlayStation players worldwide are desperately waiting to continue Aloy’s journey across the western United States.

Horizon Zero Dawn fans have many burning questions in mind regarding the sequel's release date, platforms, and more. That's why, in this post, we've mentioned everything we know about the Horizon Forbidden West. So, let's dive into the interesting part.

Horizon Forbidden West Release Date

Horizon Forbidden West will certainly release in 2021. However, there is currently no exact release date for the sequel.

Interestingly, Guerrilla Games confirmed that the developer is slowing down the PC Horizon Zero Dawn update to focus on Horizon Forbidden West. So, hopefully, like the Hogwarts Legacy, this one won't be pushed back to 2022 either.

Platform: Will Horizon Forbidden West Be on PS4?

Sonya and Guerrilla Games confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West would arrive for both PS4 and PS5. So, PS4 players don't have to switch to the PS5 to enjoy the sequel to one of the best PlayStation exclusive titles.

Interestingly, according to the developers, Horizon Forbidden West will take full advantage of the PS5 SSD to eliminate loading screens. So, the game will start as soon as you boot the game. Plus, you don't have to wait while making a quick trip from one checkpoint to another.

Speaking of platforms, we won't immediately see Horizon Zero Dawn 2 on PC. Initially, the developer will focus on releasing the game only for PS4 and PS5. However, maybe after a few years, the developer will port the sequel to PC.

Right now, there isn’t much information on Horizon Forbidden West’s story. However, the story of Horizon Forbidden West will start where the first game left off. According to the game’s description, Aloy will move West to a far-future America. In her journey, she’ll have to go against that one threat that could make things “worse.”

As showcased in the game trailer, our hero will explore the seas and deserts of the Horizon Forbidden West. So, it's pretty clear that players will get some underwater experience in the sequel. There, players can unlock buried secrets and mysteries that might help Aloy in his quest. Also, Aloy will fight against majestic machines and enemies while exploring a strange and beautiful world.

There are some rumors that, unlike the first game, Horizon Zero Dawn 2 will feature Co-op. However, there is still no confirmation that Horizon Forbidden West will become multiplayer.

Pre-Order

Unfortunately, the pre-order for Horizon Forbidden is not available. That is understandable since the release date for the game has not been announced. However, we will update this post as soon as there is some information that might be of use.
